*This year there are 9 teacher collaboration early release days and 7 professional development early release days built into the 2013-14 BGPS school calendar. Teacher collaboration is a key component of the new teacher evaluation system that is being implemented statewide. This extended time will provide teachers the opportunity to meet in grade level teams to work on goals and implement common assessments to monitor student growth and achievement throughout the year. The professional development early release days will allow teachers to receive in-depth training on the new teacher evaluation system and Common Core State Standards. We thank parents and community members for their support as we work through these change initiatives that will support student learning.
Glenwood Heights is the iconic “community school”, nestled amongst berry fields in a semi-rural area of Clark County in the southern end of Battle Ground School District. Our wonderful, dedicated staff and incredible students work hand-in-hand with an active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and a large volunteer base to provide for the students. In addition to the PTO, Glenwood strives to serve our students in a variety of educational programs such as LAP Reading, English as a Second Language (ESL), Skills Centers, Structured Learning Center, Life Skills program, and our Highly Capable Program.
