The Glenwood Heights Primary student leadership team kicked off their first event of the school year with a donation drive during October. After contacting the district's Family and Community Resource Center to learn about what items were most needed, the leaders created posters to display around the school and shared information during morning announcements to encourage participation.
Students and families donated shampoo, body wash and socks throughout the month. Thanks to the community’s generosity, the leadership team smashed its goal of 250 items and collected an impressive 382 items for students and families throughout the district.
With Soaptober wrapped up, the leadership team is already preparing for their next project: a canned food drive supporting the North County Food Bank.
